October’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity at work and at home. The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency and the National Cyber Security Alliance are sponsoring the event with this year’s theme: “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”
There are simple ways employees across industries can play their part in effective cybersecurity:

- Use a password manager to safely store your login information
- Utilize multi-factor authentication where available to add a layer of protection
- Regularly update your software and systems to minimize potential vulnerabilities

- In , systems and platforms should only run software necessary to effectively run the facility. Utilize a firewall to protect against intrusions into the system from outside sources. If electronic health information must be transferred to a mobile device, ensure it is encrypted.
